How to Prepare Your Lawn for Hot Summer Days

To get started, if you haven’t done it already, it’s important to clear away the thatch that will be laying across the surface of your turf. This will include decaying leaves, dead grass, moss and other rubbish that is preventing the access of sunlight, air, water and nutrients to the roots of your grass. Using the Dethatcher Cartridge, you can reach up to 6mm into the lawn with the tines. Ideally this job will be performed during early spring and autumn.
Your next task will be to use the Aerator Cartridge which will puncture the soil to allow both water and air into the turf. This is something that needs to be done regularly during the growing season.
Another two cartridges that will help with prepping your lawn for summer are the scarifier and the verticutter. The latter needs to be used from April onwards in order to remove any horizontal grass growth in addition to removing moss. The peak time to use the scarifier is between the months of April and July. It will remove moss, other debris and clean the surface of your lawn.
