New for 2025! The MTF 1538H-SD is recommended for managing areas up to 5000 sqm in size with it's 38.6 inch cutting deck and powerful petrol engine. In taller growing areas the side discharge chute is designed to neatly cut and spread the grass so it can be left to wilt naturally. This makes the MTF 1538H-SD a great solution for those who don't need or don't want to collect the grass.
The Stiga ST400 engine provides reliable power and performance backed by a Mountfield 5 year warranty* for domestic users.
For areas that are being cut on a more regular basis a mulch plug is included which will cut the grass into tiny particles that are blown back onto the ground where they disappear into the turf, returning valuable nutrients to the soil.

The hydrostatic transmission is similar in many ways to the gearbox on an automatic car, forward and reverse speeds are infinitely variable. To move forward you simply press the forward pedal and the more firmly you press the faster you will go. For reverse press the reverse pedal, you can change from forward to reverse instantly so manoeuvrability is fantastic. For added versatility a tow hitch is also included. You can then use the mower to tow attachments including trailers, scarifiers and leaf sweepers
